What would doubling your leads actually be worth?

Put in your own numbers. See three months of SEO against the extra clients you would win, after your own profit margin, not just revenue.

Quick answer

To estimate SEO return on investment, multiply your extra leads by your close rate to get extra clients, multiply that by the lifetime value of a client to get revenue, then apply your net profit margin to get profit. Compare that profit with what you spend on SEO. This calculator models what happens if the leads from your website double for three months.

This is an illustration using the numbers you enter, not a quote or a guarantee. Results vary by industry, location, competition and your starting point, and doubling leads in three months is a scenario to model, not a promised outcome. Profit uses the margin you enter and is before tax. SEO usually keeps compounding after the first three months, which this calculator does not count. Prices are in AUD.

How it works

The maths, step by step.

The calculator assumes the leads you already get from your website double for three months, so the extra leads equal your current monthly leads multiplied by three.

Extra leads multiplied by the share that become clients gives extra clients won. Extra clients multiplied by the lifetime value of one client gives the revenue those clients are worth over the whole relationship.

Because revenue is not profit, the calculator then applies your net profit margin, what you keep after wages, materials and overheads. That profit, less three months of SEO, is the extra money in your pocket. The return multiple is profit divided by your SEO spend.

  • Extra leads = website leads per month × 3
  • Extra clients = extra leads × close rate
  • Lifetime revenue = extra clients × client lifetime value
  • Profit = lifetime revenue × net profit margin
  • In your pocket = profit − three months of SEO
Reading the result

What the numbers do, and don't, tell you.

This is a scenario, not a forecast. Doubling leads in three months is ambitious for some businesses and conservative for others, depending on your industry, location, competition and starting point. Use it to understand the size of the opportunity and how few new clients it takes to cover the cost.

It also leaves out two things that usually work in your favour: SEO keeps compounding after the first three months, and higher rankings often reduce what you need to spend on ads. Want a realistic view for your business? Get your search blueprint or book a free strategy call.

Questions

Common questions, answered.

How do I work out the lifetime value of a client?

Multiply what an average client spends with you each year by the number of years they typically stay. For example, $2,000 a year for four years is a lifetime value of $8,000. If clients usually buy once, use the average job value.

What net profit margin should I use?

Use your own figure from last year's profit and loss: net profit divided by revenue. If you are unsure, your accountant can tell you. Using your real margin is what makes the result meaningful.

Is doubling leads realistic?

It depends on your starting point. Businesses with few website leads, a weak Google Business Profile or no AI visibility often have the most room to grow. The calculator is a scenario to help you size the opportunity, not a promise.

Does the calculator include GST?

No. Prices and results are shown in Australian dollars and are best read as GST-exclusive, before tax.
